Solar Energy Trailer
The Town of Chapel Hill proudly displays its Solar Energy Trailer here at Festifall! By outfitting a standard equipment trailer with solar panels on the roof and an artistic wrap by local artist Andria Linn, the Parks & Recreation Department has created a mobile, energy creating work of public art that transports gear to community events and then powers those events using sunlight or solar energy stored in the trailer’s batteries. Describing her design, artist Andria Linn writes, “From the dawning of the two biracial forms that symbolize harmony with cultures you can sense they are the sunlight that oversees the movement of water and vines that are producing fruit. As this design continues to unfold, within each element are other elements that symbolize birth, growth, food, movement and energy.”

Chapel Hill Public Library Circulator
More like a food truck than a traditional book mobile, the Circulator is fun, flexible, and functional. It allows Chapel Hill Public Library to directly engage with members of the community wherever they might gather and extend the library’s footprint, services, and impact beyond 100 Library Drive. The Circulator brings books to events, as well as dozens of games, costumes, crafts, and furnishings to create a place to simply relax and talk with a helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly librarian.
